Tobi (トビ, Tobi) was one of Tsubame's comarades, a Shinobi and a Bushi who worked for the Kosameda Bushi.

Tobi, just like Tsubame, lost his life 8 years prior to the story, in Kiho Year 143 during the war against the Onis.

Etymology

• The name Tobi (トビ) means "Black kite", a bird of prey in the family Accipitridae.

Trivia

• Both Tobi and Hibari did not appear in the anime.
• He, Hibari, Tsubame and Tsugumi are all named after a different type of bird.
  • Coincidentally, Tsubasa (the Kosameda are affiliated to the Tokugawa Bushi) is the only general whose name doesn't contain the kanji of an animal, however her name (翼) means "wings".
